Chinoike Clan

Clan Name: Chinoike

Clan History: The Chinoike is a unique clan, not just within Sun Country, but across all the elemental nations. Their Bloodline, the Ketsuryugan, is not known to have originated from the Sage’s bloodline, but is rather suspected to have developed independently. They originally made their name throughout the desert with their famed Iron Release, which they could use to manipulate their own blood and other liquids with high iron content. They often used this bloodline to sense underground mineral and water deposits, making them incredibly wealthy. They quickly became rivals to match the Hyuuga - they both had doujutsu, but the Chinoike lacked the pedigree the Hyuuga were so proud of.

The Chinoike found themselves stifled by the regime of the Sun Country, and conspired with other rich merchant families to depose the Daimyo and install a more favorable leader. The Chinoike deployed their powerful genjutsu to influence the court in their grand conspiracy. The Daimyo caught on and mobilized the equally talented Kurama clan as a countermeasure, beginning a heated conflict of genjutsu, espionage, and assassination known (inaccurately) as the Silent War. A few years later, however, this war was cut short by the appearance of the One-Tailed beast, which forced the clans which were once enemies to cooperate. With the combined might of the Chinoike, the Kurama, the Hyuuga, and the Sarutobi, it was successfully driven back. In the end, the Chinoike were successful in placing a sympathetic Daimyo on the throne, earning them the initial biggest piece of the pie in the newly-formed ninja village - a member of their clan as the first Taiyokage. The balance of power in the village has since equalized, but the Chinoike enjoy wealth and prestige from their now cozier position in the country.

“Blood and Iron” is a popular motto within the clan, reflecting both their doujutsu and how they look at the world. Everything is a potential resource, and they tend to nurse old grudges. They seem to be pessimistic about the peace effort.

Clan Traits:
-Chinoike Genjutsu: The Chinoike's Ketsuryugan, while enhancing their genjutsu abilities, would be worthless if they weren't skilled with the specialty in the first place. This provides an additional secondary specialty slot exclusively for genjutsu.

-Anatomist: Their access to Blood release has resulted in the Chinoike gaining an intimate understanding of the human body, able to perform great medical feats without breaking a sweat. A Chinoike with this trait knows the pressure points of the human body without metagaming, and by targeting these spots with taijutsu or weaponry can ignore half of the target's durability.

-Advanced Water Release: Iron release is the special advanaced elemental affinity among Chinoike clan members, based off of water release. Due to having extended time to refine these techniques, water release jutsu cast by a Chinoike with this trait can choose to boost the base power, speed, or durability of said jutsu up to the next rank with no additional cost. Only one field can be boosted in this manner at a time. This ability can only be used once per thread.
