Clan History: A branch family of the Uzumaki, the Macuil Cloister have not developed a kekkei genkai but instead focus their mastery on a desire to learn. It is unknown how they originally came to be, but it is rumored that the original branch head, Taira, made a deal with a Yokai- his Uzumaki lifespan in exchange for knowledge of the dark arts. Though this record has never been verified, the Macuil seem to have traded the Uzumaki's prowess with fuuinjutsu with nearly unparalleled knowledge of space time ninjutsu. Currently, they make up a small fraction of Shimagakure's ninja forces, often serving as summoners and support. They mostly live scattered around the island. Those who do not serve often operate as scholars, mediums, or Yokai hunters.
Clan Traits:
-Dark Chakra Arts: Macuil who select this trait gain access to the hiden yin release space-time techniques of the clan, and by extension are able to create variances how they see fit. These jutsu can be taught to non clan members, but techniques learned in this manner have double EXP cost. Macuil clansmen who refuse to take on this trait upon creation are described as having a birth defect which naturally suppresses the capability of forming such a unique chakra form, effectively becoming unable to learn said techniques.
-Forbidden Knowledge: A Macuil clansman that takes this trait will be able to use space-time techniques up to 1 rank higher than their specialization would usually allow (SS-ranks if it's their Secondary, S-ranks if space-time is tertiary, and B-ranks if they do not take space-time as a specialty).
-Pact Seal: By increasing the cost of space-time ninjutsu, a Macuil with this trait can negate their handseals entirely. This trait cannot be used on X-Ranked jutsu. The increased costs can be found below:
